Plan A Visit

Welcome to Providence Church!

We know it can be uncomfortable to visit a new church. We’ve put together this page to make your visit as easy as possible!

New to Providence Church?

You might be wondering, what’s it really like at Providence Church?

Simply stated we are about glorifying God by knowing, living and proclaiming his truth in the world.

No matter what you’ve been through or what questions you might have about God and faith, our church is a place where you’ll find love, grace, and forgiveness guided by the word of God. We strive to guide our lives and interactions by the tenets of Biblical Counseling. At Providence Church the word of God is preached in an expository manner. We take the time it requires to understand his word by selecting a book of the bible then unpacking its meanings sequentially chapter by chapter, verse by verse.

First, let’s talk about the times that we meet.  We have all kinds of meetings and ministries, but there are two days that the entire church comes together; Sunday Morning (of course!) and Wednesday Night. Here are the schedules.

Sunday Schedule
Bible Study 9:00-10 AM
Fellowship & Refreshments 10:00 AM
Worship Service 10:30-12 PM

Wednesday Family Night
Fellowship Meal 5:30 PM
Bible Study and Prayer 7:00 PM

What to Expect on Sunday

ParkingThe first thing you may notice when you arrive is that the parking lot is full.  There are a few visitor spots available directly in front of the main building. If you are unable to find parking on the asphalt, we have additional parking on the grass. Feel free to pick a spot!

Seating: Our membership continues to grow, which is a good thing, but seating in our sanctuary is limited.  If you would like a seat in the Main Sanctuary, we recommend that you arrive early (10ish).  If there is no room in the main sanctuary, we do have overflow seating and we stream the service there.  Our greeters can direct you when you arrive!

Children: For the Worship Service, we provide nurseries for infants and toddlers in the Education Building.  You may check them in before the service if you like.  For our grade school kids, we love to have them join us in the Worship Service for the Singing, Scripture Reading, and Offering before we dismiss them to Children’s Church (held in the Education Building).

MusicOur Sunday music consists primarily of hymns lead by our worship leader, accompanied by piano. Occasionally, there will be a choir or special music.

Offering: While we are always grateful for donations, there is no pressure to give.  If you would like to contribute, you may do so by cash, check, or online giving.

SermonsThe preaching of the Word of God is the focal point of our service.  Messages consist primarily of verse-by-verse exposition with some topical studies mixed in.  Sermons typically last 50-60 minutes.

Sunday afternoon Fellowship:  After the service on Sundays, a number of us will bring our own lunch and spend time together in our fellowship hall. Often, several of us are there until about 3pm.  Often we will have live acoustic music performed by some of our musicians while we enjoy one another’s company.  Please feel free to join us!

Here are a few FAQs you may find helpful.

What Bible does Providence Church preach and study from?

While there are several faithful translations of Scripture available, Providence Church primarily uses the New American Standard Bible (NASB).

Links to examples of free online bibles and concordances may be found on our our Useful Links page.

What is our Sunday morning Bible Study like?

Sunday morning Bible Study (a.k.a. Sunday School) may include preaching by guest speakers, missions updates from missionaries, topical or scriptural preaching by our pastors or elders.  We have children’s classes available at this time as well.

You may preview some of these past events via recordings in our Facebook timeline.

What is a Fellowship & Refreshments break like?

At 10am, we take brief break before Worship Service. Coffee, cold drinks and snacks are provided in the Education Building.  This is a great time to meet people.

What is our Worship Service like?

Our pastors or an occasional guest speaker will preach from the word of God. This service is most often the continuation of an expository study in one of the books of the bible.

You may view past services in a variety of ways; e.g. our pages for Sermons, Expository Series, other Series, SermonAudio website or app and iTunes. You may also watch an entire worship service on our facebook livestream.

What is our Wednesday evening Bible Study like?

At 5:30 we have a fellowship meal know as Family Night Dinner.  Please, join us! It’s free if its your first time.  (Note 1)

At 6:45, we come together to hear teaching. Currently, we are working through a Theology of Biblical Counseling.  Then we have a time of prayer from 7:30-8.  We also have youth meetings, and children’s classes during this time.

An overview of our past and future offerings are detailed on our Biblical Counseling page. Past sessions were recorded and are available on our Biblical Counseling Exam Prep page and other streaming media channels.
